Membership in Lions is a very worthy vocation & with Lions Clubs in 197 Countries in the World with over one million members we know we do achieve our goal to "make a difference".

People join Lions for a variety of reasons but in forming the friendships & fellowship that we do we band together to honour the International motto of "We Serve".

Lions was formed in Chicago in 1917 by our Founder Melvin Jones it is now the worlds biggest Community Service Club with Members from both sexes & of all ages from all walks of life.

The badge that we wear has two heads one facing back to our proud history, a history we are not hesitant in visiting for the advice & wisdom left behind by our predecessors. The other facing forward into the future that we embrace with all it's challenges.

World wide we proudly strive to live within our Code of Ethics & our Lions Objects as we also proudly display our official colors of Purple & Gold.

District 201Q4 encompasses a large area of Queensland & all of the Clubs are listed on the earlier page, some have created their own pages & are linked to this one. You are welcome to click on any of them to show you what the individual Club is doing.

Ye Olde membership Drive:
And it came to pass they entered, a few gathered round their Leader to ask why more had not come into the inner room. They complained bitterly that their numbers were growing weak and tasks were becoming heavy. So their Leader said unto them:
Fear not, there are many who would like to enter.
Behold they stand at the door, but they do not knock.
They bide their time, but you do not open the door unto them. They hunger and thirst after a chance to do service, yet you do not invite them in.
They wish to sit and sup with us, yet you do not call them by name.
Ye, who call yourselves faithful are selfish. Get up off your seats which are leaden, and go ye into the communities searching out the new followers lest our members peter out to nothing.
Then shall we be strong and no more shall those who desire to join with us be left standing out in the cold.
Verily I say unto you, if each of you do that which is expected, our Cup will surely runneth over in strength, service and fellowship.

And they went out and hastened to do that which they were told. Even the most skeptical among them was surprised to find that there were many , not far off, who fell down, thanking them for their invitation "TO SERVE".
